Memory Book

For a workshop this weekend I'm having the ladies cover some albums that I found in the Dollar Spot at Target. I used Modge Podge on the paper to make it adhere. Then we'll stamp the pages to match. This little book could be just about anything you'd want it to be. I took 2007 and divided it into segments...vacation, foster kids, big events like the adoption of our kids, etc. Each page has a tab. I went through my year of photos on disk and picked out ones that depicted the events. I printed them in wallet size and scrapped the year in this little book. Those that know me know that I have a very hard time finding time to do lots of scrapbooking (probably the 5 kids I have LOL). This sort of recapped the year and I feel like I've gotten something done :0)
I will be posting all of the pages on my blog by tomorrow morning. Check it out.
Thanks for looking,
Yvonne Wickenkamp

Dawn's Cherish Layout

I almost didn't get these posted in time! Here are my layouts for this week's challenge. I used the X7070b Simple Pleasures paper pack and d1227 Legendary Moments stamp set. I distressed with cocoa and desert sand and stamped with bamboo ink.

Up The Tempo

I used Serendipity paper to create my 1970 Halloween layout (I'm doing a Halloween album). I'm the tiger... I also used Happy Haunting (d1180), and embossing. There are New England Ivy Bigger Brads too. The left page is supposed to have an 8x6 picture. I couldn't crop my picture any smaller and just cut my mat appropriately. This picture is 8x8. I also changed up the cardstock cutting to better coordinate the two colors.
A close up of the left page. You can see the bigger brads better here. The bat is on mounting tape. I'm still figuring out how to use those parenthesis. I'm not thrilled with it, but I'm playing and learning... I also embossed the spider web in silver pearl and have a line from the spider to the web (can't see it well, if at all, in the picture).
The upper right picture are my sisters and me. I added another spider web to help tie the two pages together.

Bamboo and Black Combination

Bamboo is the base and strip of this simple and elegant card. Both are sponged with bamboo ink. The button has natural hemp added for a little more dimension. The paper is from the Silhouette paper packet. This is a 4.25" x 4.25" card utilizing the smaller Big Pinks white flower. It also looks good using a pink flower, making it pop a little more.

I also wanted to try the combination without using a paper packet, so the "I love you" card does that. The papers are bamboo, black and colonial white. I then sponged the bamboo with bamboo and used the sea sponge black on black (you can't see this detail). I then used our Club Connections rub-ons for the "stamping." I think it might peak customers curiosity seeing the card and ask more questions. This card is 3" x3".

My Jan. SOTM Contribution

Here's my contribution to the Jan. SOTM collection. The background is done using the chalk-popping technique with the added drama of liquid glass and glitter. Simple and fun!
